Abstract
1,273,223. Water-insoluble azo dyes. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 16 Sept., 1969 [17 Sept., 1968], No. 45494/69. Heading C4P. The invention comprises water-insoluble azo dyes having the Formula I where D is a diazo component of the benzene, azobenzene, thiadiazole or benzoisothiazole series, R is a hydrogen atom or a #-hydroxyethyl, #-hydroxypropyl, #-hydroxy-γ-chloropropyl, (3-acetoxyethyl or #-acetoxypropyl group, R<SP>1</SP> is a methyl or ethyl group, X is a hydrogen atom or a methoxy group, and Y is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. The dyes are prepared conventionally by diazotization and coupling.
