Abstract

1,272,703. Collecting coke oven dust. S.A. METALLURGIQUE D'ESPERANCE-LONGDOZ. 15 July, 1970 [15 July, 1969], No. 34298/70. Heading F4B. A coke guide 1 and a hood 6 provided with a suction fan 16 and filter 12 are carried by a frame 2 running on rails 7, 8 one on either side of the tracks for the coke car 3. The hood has an extension 13 covering the guide 1, a penthouse 15 below the fan 16 covering the filled coke car for the first part of its travel and protecting the fan 16, and a protected gallery 17 for operator and controls. Doors 14 in the part 13 of the hood enable the operator to see the coke oven during movement of the frame, and to reach the coke guide 1 for maintenance. The filter 12 has a large collecting area and a water spray. The inner rail 7 carrying the hood may be mounted in the inspection platform 4, and may be the outer rail of a track provided for a normal coke guide.
