Abstract

1,271,606. Electrographic apparatus. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. and INTERNATIONAL COMPUTERS Ltd. Jan. 22, 1970, No. 3170/70. Heading G2H. [Also in Division B6] A developed electrostatic or magnetic image is transferred from record surface 3 to a substrate 6 by a pressure roller 5 and by producing slip between the surface and substrate through rollers 9 and 10 driven at a lower linear speed, Fig. 3 or higher speed, Fig. 4, than the surface 3. Alternatively, the linear speed of the substrate 6, Fig. 5 (not shown) may be greater than the surface 3. The pressure roller 5, Fig.3, may be driven at a different speed to the surface 3. In another embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the pressure roller has a high frictional coefficient so that slip occurs between the record surface and substrate.
