A method of combatting infestation of a locus by terrestrial mollusks comprises contacting the mollusks in that locus with trimethyltin hydroxide or hexamethylditin. Crop areas may be protected against infestation by terrestrial mollusks by applying the active compounds to the crop area. The active ingredients may be applied as conventional formulations or as bait formulations.
