Abstract

1,268,444. Magnetic couplings. S.E.R.M.A.G. SOC. D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES MAGNETIQUES. 16 April, 1969 [17 April, 1968], No. 19529/69. Addition to 1,172,917. Heading H2A. [Also in Division F1] In order to improve the cooling, the induced member 4 of the device defined by Claim 1 of parent Specification forms the driving member and is located at the front end of the device, which end forms the intake to blading 13 of the fan rotor 7. As shown, the member 4 is a hysteretic flat ring in an Al alloy part 24 carrying cooling fins 25 and fixed to the drive pulley shaft 1, whilst in Fig. 2 it has it's own fins (25a) and radial arms (26) fixing it to the shaft. Because heating is restricted to the driving member the driven parts, mainly the beading, may be of low softening temperature thermoplastics material e.g. propylene, polyamide or acetal.
