Abstract

1,268,112. Random dyeing. TEXTILAUSRUSTUNGS GES SCHROERS & CO. K.G. 3 June, 1969 [15 June, 1968; 10 Oct., 1968], No. 28014/69. Heading D1L. Single colour dyed or undyed textile material 10 is passed under dye liquor dispensing means 20, 30 which dye it at random with one or more colours, and dispensing means 41 is subjected to oscillations to disperse the jets of dye into droplets. Dispensing means 20 (Fig. 2) consists of a trough 22 containing dye liquor and a rotatable roller 21, the film of dye liquor accumulating on the roller being drawn off by a blade 27 and dispersed into individual jets 29 by grooves 31, 31' of rounded or V-shaped cross-section. Dispensing means 30 consists of a trough 34 with equal spaced nozzles 35 in its bottom face. Oscillating means for each dispensing means (Fig. 1a) comprises a lower fixed support and an upper movable support. The upper support being attached at one end to the dispensing means and at the other end to a double armed lever whose ends are driven at different speeds. A grid 36 is mounted between the dispensing means and the material and is subjected to oscillatory motion by lever 40 attached to a disc 39 which is driven by an electric motor 38. The apparatus may be enclosed in a steamer with one or two chambers, the material being supported on a plurality of rollers during its passage through the steamer (Figs. 6, 7). The feed and take-up rolls for the material may also be located in the steamer (Fig. 8). The material may be heated prior to dyeing.
