Abstract
1,268,040. Mixtures of disperse monoazo dyes. MITSUI TOATSU CHEMICALS Inc. 4 Nov., 1970 [5 Nov., 1969 (2); 23 June, 1970], No. 52562/70. Heading C4P. The invention comprises a mixture containing two or more dyes in which each dye is of formula. wherein X is H, Cl, Br, CH 3 , C 2 H 5 , OCH 3 , OC 2 H 5 or CN, R 1 is H, Cl, OCH 3 , OC 2 H 5 or OC 6 H 5 , R 2 is CH 3 , C 2 H 5 or C 6 H 5 , R 3 is H, CH 3 , C 2 H 5 , CH 2 CH 2 CN or CH 2 CH = CH and R 4 is CH 3 , C 2 H 5 , C 3 H 7 , C 4 H 9 , CH 2 CH=CH 2 or C 6 H 5 , the components of the mixture differing in the choice of at least one of the substituents X or R 4 . The mixtures are prepared by mixing the appropriate dyes or by preparing the dyes by azo coupling using a mixture of diazo or coupling components. The mixtures are used to dye polyester materials in navy blue shades and give a much better build-up than the individual dyes.
