Abstract

1,267,658. Liferaft launching gear. BTR INDUSTRIES Ltd. 15 May, 1969, No. 23125/68. Headings B7S and B7U. A housing and launching apparatus for a safety float 6 comprises a cradle 8 supporting the float, a strap 13 and breakable lashing 14 securing the float to the cradle and an inflatable bag 9 to break the lashing and so detach the float from the cradle. A casing 1 encloses the float and its supporting cradle and inflatable tubes 3 dislodge door 2 from the casing to enable the float to be launched. In the embodiment shown door 2 is jettisoned and lashing 14 is broken by compressed air supplied to pipes 4 and 10 respectively.
