Abstract

[Also in Division El] The surface of a duct formed in soil by a mole plough is stabilised by applying to the soil surface immediately behind the mole of the plough, as the plough forms a duct, a solution or emulsion of synthetic resin. The solution or emulsion can be sprayed onto the soil surface from a nozzle 40 and can be squeezed into or mixed with the soil by a vaned expander 16. A gas burner is housed in the foot 32 of the mole-mounting coulter 14 of the plough for heating the soil prior to the application of the solution or emulsion thereto.
