Abstract

1,266,859. Cement compositions. ADICON Ltd. 26 March, 1969 [9 April, 1968], No. 16975/68. Heading C1H. A composition for addition to cement or gypsum in the gauging water comprises in per cent b.w. 25-40 of an anionic surfactant; 40-55 of an alkali metal CO 3 - or HCO 3 - and 15-30 of cellulose or a derivative. Specified are alkali metal salt of a long chain alkyl sulphate or alkyl benzene sulphonate; Me cellulose C.M.C. and its Na salt. The compositions can make lightweight cements (Portland or aluminous), plasters and concretes which are quick setting. Aggregates are sand, fly ash, or clays, shale, and slate in expanded form. The density of the product varies inversely to the amount of composition added.
