Abstract
1,266,445. Electric analogue calculating. THURINGER INDUSTRIEWERK RAUENSTEIN VEB. 2 May, 1969, No. 22595/69. Heading G4G. In an arrangement for indicating the unbalance of a rotor, the amplified signals from two electromechanical pick-ups 1, displaced through 90 degrees about the shaft of the rotor 2, and two sinusoidal outputs, displaced through 90 degrees, from a sine generator 4 driven in synchronism with the rotor, are applied as shown to the inputs of the multipliers 5. Indicators 6 are connected to show the sum and the difference, respectively, of the outputs from the two pairs of multipliers, whereby the indicator readings are proportional to the sine and the cosine, respectively, of the phase angle between the unbalance signals from pick-ups 1 and the signals derived from the generators 4. In a modified arrangement (Fig. 2, not shown), the generator 4 and multipliers 5 are replaced by a pair of electromechanical multipliers formed by resistor commutators driven in synchronism with the rotor.
