Abstract

1,265,668. Dip moulding. D. M. INDUSTRIAL PLASTICS Ltd. 9 Oct., 1970 [9 Oct., 1969], No. 49562/69. Heading B5A. In a method of dip moulding a cup-shaped device which embraces a rod at one extremity 2, and seals against a surface at the other extremity 6, and includes a re-entrant portion 5, a mould is formed having an external shape corresponding to the internal shape of the device, and at least one air outlet is provided in the mould which opens into that part of the re-entrant forming portion which is uppermost when the mould is dipped so that entrapped air can escape. The mould is dipped in a bath of hardenable plastics material, e.g. P.V.C., for a sufficient period for a hardened plastics layer to be formed on the mould surface.
