Abstract
1,261,380. Hair cutters. W. GUMBMANN. 22 April, 1969 [10 May, 1968; 2 Dec., 1968], No. 20464/69. Heading B4B. A hair cutting device comprises one or more interchangeable blades 1, each supported between two plates 10, 16 (Fig. 2), each having a row of teeth 11, 15 overlapping the or a respective blade edge 2, surfaces containing edges 12, 17 of each of the teeth of respective rows defining plane or curved guide surfaces 12, 17, abruptly delineated from contiguous surfaces of the respective plate 10, 16 or teeth 11, 15, and spaced at different shortest distances from the blade edge 2. The teeth 11, 15 may be subdivided into regions forming separate guide surfaces, and a series of cutting combs for different hair lengths may be provided on rectangular plates 20, (21), Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 (not shown), corresponding blades 23-25 being located by projections 22 &c., engageable in recesses in the co-operating plate (21). Further, Fig. 10, a cover-plate 210 may be slidably adjustable over a calibrated range 1-6 to vary the cutting length.
