Abstract

A stretcher 1 comprises two poles 2 connected by a length of fabric 3 and a footrest 4, formed by two supports 6 connected by fabric strip 7, which is pivotably connected to the poles 2, the fabric strip 7 of the footrest being connected over substantially half its length to the length of fabric 3. Each pole 2 carries a pair of supporting plates 5 to which are connected by pivot pins (8), Fig. 3 not shown, the supports 6 so that they may be moved between a horizontal position parallel to the poles 2 and a vertical position at right angles thereto, further movement being prevented by stops (9).
