Abstract

1,260,647. Rotary furnaces. SOC. FIVES LILLE-CAIL. 3 April, 1970 [14 April, 1969], No. 15983/70. Heading F4B. The tyre 10 of a rotary furnace is supported by at least two pairs of rollers 12, only one pair being shown, each pair being connected by a rocking beam 14 to equalize the load on the rollers of the pair. The beam 14 and its associated bearing members 20 rock in shoes 24 which in turn may rock, in a direction perpendicular to the rocking of the beam 14, in a fixed support 16 to maintain the longitudinal axis of the rollers 12 parallel to that of the rotary furnace. A casing 32 connected to the beam 14 by bellows 34 protects the support arrangement. In a modification (not shown) a pin mounted at its ends in bearings may replace the bearing members 20. Adjusting means 30 for the fixed support 16 are provided.
