Abstract

1,260,558. Supplying and collecting bobbins to and from machines. PALITEX PROJECT CO. G.m.b.H. 19 May, 1969 [20 May, 1968; 13 Sept., 1968], No. 25373/69. Addition to 1,180,108. Heading D1F. In a modification of the two-for-one twisting machine of the parent Specification, the endless conveyor capable of being driven continuously or intermittently at different speeds is located above the winding section instead of below the spindle section, thus enabling all transport movements to be effected at the same level with consequent saving in space on and between machines. Optionally, the machine is further provided with a rising endless conveyor capable of being driven at the same speed as the upper conveyor and equipped with bobbin receivers: it may be fitted in a mobile frame whereby it is detachable from each of several machines it serves. In operation, when a bin containing bobbins corresponding in number to the machine spindles is positioned in front of the head of the machine (or such bobbins are ready on a table) and the two conveyors are running, the bobbins are inserted continuously in the bobbin receivers and are transported to a point, slightly above the level of the upper conveyor, whereat the rising conveyor moves parallel to the other conveyor across a number of spindles (until it returns downwards) and on this section bobbins are gradually transferred by an angled contact bar to bobbin receivers on the upper conveyor whereby they are distributed around the machine above the winding components. The conveyors are stopped to enable individual delivery bobbins to be donned on the spindles and empty sleeves to be inserted in the bobbin creels of the winders, preparatory to spinning. When the winding bobbins are full, they are transferred to bobbin receivers of the upper conveyor which then transports them towards the loading end of the machine whereat they are detached by a second contact bar to fall down a chute whereby, with their speed reduced by a baffle, they are deposited in a storage bin. The upper conveyor may distribute empty sleeves from sleeve containers below its bobbin receivers. Automatic counting mechanisms may record and limit the number of delivery bobbins taken to the upper endless conveyor and record the number of winding bobbins moving down the chute.
