Abstract

1,260,399. Valves. INDUSTRIE A. ZANUSSI S.p.A. 26 Feb., 1969 [28 March, 1968], No. 10298/69. Heading F2V. A gas cock has a plug 15 to selectively control flow through an inlet 12 and outlets 13, 14, which is rotatable by a spindle 29 via an intermediate member 20, having a projection 21 to engage a notch 19 in the plug, so as to be axially movable against a spring 34 from a first position in which it engages the cock casing 11, by means of a projection 27, to a second position in which it is free to rotate the plug and control flow through the outlet 13 via a passageway 16. The connection between the spindle 29 and member 20 is formed by a pin 31 extending from the spindle to engage in either a slot 24 or a slot 25 in the member 20. The spindle is also formed with a pin 32 which co-operates with a fixed abutment 33 on the casing at a position corresponding to a cut-off position of the plug. To change the flow from the outlet 13 to the outlet 14, the spindle is displaced axially against a spring 30 to allow the pin 32 to move to the opposite side of the projection 33 and the pin 31 to move into the slot 25. Flow through a slot 17 and the outlet 14 can then be regulated. In either limit position of the plug the projection 27 engages a rib 36. The embodiment of Fig. 3, not shown, has a pin 31 which remains in the slot 24, and a projection 27 that can move in an extended slot 28 during movement of the pin 32 over the abutment 33.
