Abstract
1,259,225. Sliding clasp fasteners. OPTIHOLDING A.G. 23 March, 1970 [21 March, 1969], No. 13854/70. Heading E2S. A sliding clasp fastener comprises two rows of interlocking elements made from a plastics monofilament in helical formation in which the two arms attached to each interlocking head 3 of each row of elements substantially overlap each other to form an eyelet in which is engaged the corresponding head of an element from the other row and each arm has a broadening 6 in the plane of the fastener which engages a corresponding head 3 to increase the resistance to breaking-open of the fastener. The broadenings in the arms are preferably broader than the filament by about half the filament diameter and the interlocking heads 3 are preferably broader than the broadenings 6 by about quarter the diameter of the filament.
