Abstract

1,259,195. Orientating bottles. SHIKOKU KAKOOKI K.K. 27 Feb., 1969 [4 May, 1968], No. 10508/69. Heading B8S. Empty bottles from a shoot 4 fall on to the stationary bottom 9 of rotating cylinder 10 contained within stationary container 1. The bottles roll down the bottom 9 and are pushed around by vertical projections 27 on the inside of the rotating cylinder 10. Within the cylinder is positioned a stationary guide rail 28 along which the bottles are pushed by the projections 27 till they. reach the top of the cylinder 10. Each bottle then passes over the outside of the cylinder 10 and inside the container 1 and falls mouth upwards on to a floor 35 which carries them through a discharge guide (38, not shown), out of the container 1, ready to receive liquid. Orientating device, Figs. 5 and 6.-When a bottle B arrives at the top of cylinder 10 it either faces mouth leftwards as in Fig. 6 or mouth rightwards as in Fig. 5. In Fig. 6 the bottle pivots about a portion 33a of a U-shaped member 33 to fall bottom downwards. In Fig. 5 the bottle pivots about a portion 33b to likewise fall with bottom downwards. In this way all the bottles are uniformly oriented.
