Abstract
1,258,862. Electromagnetic relays. ELESTA AG. 30 April, 1970 [22 Sept., 1969], No. 20897/70. Heading H1N. A flat electromagnetic relay has its armature 34 within its coil bobbin 1 and mounted on contact springs 22 so arranged that on energization of a coil 20 the armature bridges an air gap between a core member 37 and a yoke 50. The core member 37 and yoke 50 are both engaged by the magnetic cover 40 of the relay which provides a fluid return path and magnetic shielding. The four contact springs 22 are clamped between insulating members 30, 36 within slots 31 and the springs are provided with insulating coil 32 and clamped by a spring member 33 to the armature 34. The armature 34 has a thickness greater than the spacing of the fixed ends of the springs 22 from the core member 37 so that the contact ends 24 of the springs are normally urged against fixed contacts 10 with a contact pressure determined by the distance of the inner edge of the member 36 from the armature 34. The end part 3 of the bobbin 1 is divided into separate contact chambers. The cover 40 is retained in indentations at 43, 44 of the bobbin 1 and member 30 and holds the relay components in place.
