Abstract

1,256,295. Stud-and-socket fasteners. G.K.N. SCREWS & FASTENERS Ltd. 22 May, 1970 [19 April, 1969], No. 20092/69. Heading E2B. The rotatable stud 10 of a bayonet-type fastener having fastening projections 13 and a handle 14, is provided with a generally square portion 17 having opposed sharp corners 18, 19 and rounded corners 20, 21 which permit 90‹ rotation between the sides 28, 29 of a slot 27 in a fixed portion 30 of the fastener and locate it in either of these positions. The fastener secures a grille 31 to a frame 32 having a socket part 39 in a hole 37. This socket part has detent notches 47 and ramps 48 for locating the fastening projections 13 of the stud. Projections abut shoulders 35, 36 to limit rotation. A circlip 52 around neck 24 holds the stud in plate 30.
