Abstract
1,255,484. Ring-modified oleananes. BIOREX LABORATORIES Ltd. 25 Nov., 1969 [10 Dec., 1968], No. 58564/68. Headings C2C and C2U. Novel compounds of formula (wherein X is H or alkyl) are prepared from compounds of formula by ozonolysis followed by reduction of the resulting ozonides to give compounds of formula which are then reacted with peracids to give the desired products. In Example 5 the ozonide is isolated. In Example 1 a compound of Formula (III) is characterized as its 3-mono-oxime (oleanane numbering).
