Abstract
1,254,940. Endless conveyers. NETZSCH MASCHINENFABRIK GEB. 20 Feb., 1969 [21 Feb., 1968; 26 July, 1968], No. 9182/69. Heading B8A. [Also in Division C1] A row of four downwardly pointing rotary clamping heads 30 with suction bellows are set on the white-dried plates 16 by lowering the cross-member 26; as the lever 48 lifts the crossmember 26 the suction heads 30 lift the plates 16 from the moulds 14 on an endless conveyer 10. The heads 30 are then swung upwards about the shaft 28 until their sleeves 36 (Fig. 3, not shown) contact the drive belt 88 which then rotates the sleeves together with the heads 30 and the plates. The edges of the plates are then engaged first by the harder bristles 98<SP>1</SP> of a rotating roller brush 98 and then by the softer bristles 98<SP>11</SP> as the brush is moved axially by the pin 108 which engages in the cam groove 106. The brush and sponge housings 94 and 96 are displaced along the guide rods 92 by the crank drive 102 so that the sponge belt 100 smoothes the edges of the plates. The plates are then gripped by the secondstage suction heads 60 at position 60<SP>1</SP> and then the plates are released by the heads 30 and carried without inverting to a stacking table 18. The second stage suction heads 60 can be rotatable about their axes so that they can engage the plates and rotate with them for additional grip during cleaning in position 60<SP>1</SP>.
