Abstract
1,252,685. Remote control switch. M. ERNST. 27 June, 1969 [4 July, 1968], No. 32487/69. Addition to 1,173,395. Heading A6S. A remote control hand switch for an electricallyoperated adjusting device comprises a housing having a base portion 1 and an upper portion 2 (Fig. 1). The upper portion 2 of the housing is provided with two rectangular contents in juxtaposition into which upwardly projecting push button bodies 6, 7 are inserted from below. A collar on each button prevents them from falling out. Each push button has, in the vicinity of the narrow sides of the upper portion, a downwardly projecting extension 9 (Fig. 2, not shown) via which the push button acts on an associated switch contact 20 (Fig. 3). The push buttons are provided with apertures 10 and 11 and plates of translucent material with raised profiles corresponding to the apertures are inserted from below so that symbols are roduced which stand out distinctly upon illumination from below. The upper side of the base portion 1 of the housing is provided with an upwardly projecting, rectangular extension 14 in the centre and extending diagonally onto which a central contact 15 is mounted, in the form of an elongated spring. The contact has extensions defining U-shaped resilient troughs 16 on both sides into which the caps 18 of miniature filament bulbs 17, 17' are inserted. The ends of the central contact are bent parallel to the narrow sides of the housing to form resilient legs 20, 20' which lie under the downwardly projecting extension 9 and above fixed contacts 21, 21'. The fixed contacts are provided at right angles with connecting extensions 23, 23' which form resilient contacts at their ends 24, 24' which butt against the central contacts of the miniature filament bulbs 17, 17'. The bulbs are oppositely directed so that bulb 17 under button 7 is associated with contacts 20, 21 operated by button 6 a bulb 17' with contacts 20', 21'. The central contact and the lateral fixed contacts are attached to the base portion by means of tubs secured to the contacts which pass through slots in the base portion. Electric leads are soldered to the tabs on the underside of the base portion. The leads are passed up through hole 31 and out of the switch housing via an aperture 32. The hand switch is incorporated via the leads into the electric circuit of the remotely controllable electrically operated adjusting device, described in parent Specification.
