Abstract
1,251,294. Swaging. B. RIBBACK. 24 Feb., 1969 [23 Feb., 1968], No. 9743/69. Heading B3H. A rotary swaging machine comprises a pair of opposed tools 2 mounted on the end of double arm levers 1, 3 which are driven to reciprocate the tools and the levers are mounted for rotation about the workpiece axis 5. The levers are pivoted on a tube 8 through which the workpiece is fed and the tube is rotated by a belt or chain drive 12. An eccentric sleeve 9 is rotatably mounted on the tube 8 so as to move the ends 10 of the levers. The sleeve is rotated by a driven pulley 11 and the drives 11, 12 may be coupled together so that the rate of working of the tools can be adjusted dependently or independently of the rotational speed of the tube 8.
