Abstract

A dry shaver comprises an apertured shear plate fixed to a body 5 of the shaver and a cutter 4 adapted to engage the inner surface of the shear plate, the cutter being supported at each of its ends by a spring strip 6 connected to the cutter and the body and each strip having a looped portion 7 such that the strips serve to guide the cutter for rectilinear reciprocating motion and to urge the cutter into contact with the stationary shear plate. The strip 6 may be interconnected so as to form a single member as shown, the central portion being secured to the cutter, or each strip may be formed separately. The strips may be made from steel, copper or plastics.
