1,249,631. Tool change mechanism. GEORGE RICHARDS & CO. Ltd. 1 Jan., 1969 [17 Jan., 1968], No. 2581/68. Heading B3B. A tool store of a tool change mechanism comprises a chain which carries tool-holders 5 and which is movable around guides 1-4 to present a tool-holder at a tool interchange position on guide 2. At this position the chain path can be distorted by simultaneously moving guide 2 towards a machine spindle 7, and moving guide 4 to allow the movement of guide 2 without stretching the chain.
