Abstract

1,249,616. Coil formers. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 20 Feb., 1970 [26 Feb., 1969], No. 8279/70. Heading B8M. A coil former made from a die-cast or compression moulding compound consists of a hollow core part 1 and two transverse end flanges 2, 3, the former having an uninterrupted slot 1<SP>1</SP> extending axially through the core part and radially through the flanges, the slot in the core part being at least as wide as the largest width of the core part. The slot in each of the flanges is preferably U-shaped, and the outer periphery 211 of the flange acts as a plane supporting surface. The former may be made of a thermoplastic die-casting compound or a thermosetting plastics compound.
