Abstract
1,249,070. Decorative articles. SOC. D. EDITION ET DE DIFFUSION DE PUBLICATIONS SEDIP-INTER S.A. 18 March, 1969 [29 March, 1968], No. 14151/69. Heading B6G. Artistic representations are produced by adhesively attaching a strip of flexible material in edge-wise relationship to a support member to form a pattern comprising a plurality of areas enclosed by sections of the strip, applying at least one colouring agent to at least one of the areas and overcoating the resulting coloured areas with a cold-setting varnish to impart an enamel appearance. The strip may be of plastics or metal e.g. aluminium. The support may be a sheet of cardboard or paper, wood or moulded plaster. The adhesive may be a polyvinyl acetate emulsion. The colouring agent may be gouaches or coloured glass beads. As shown in Fig. 1 a kit for producing the representations comprises box 1 containing supports 2, a book 3 of separate paper sheets on which designs are printed in outline, bags 4, 5 containing rolls 6, 7 of strip aluminium, a bottle 8 of adhesive, a bottle 9 of thicker adhesive for filling in the pattern areas after being coloured with a gouache, a bottle 10 containing a cold-setting varnish, a mould 11 for casting plaster supports and a bag 12 containing a moulding powder.
