Abstract

1,248,741. Heating charge. BRITISH MOTOR CORP. Ltd. Sept.30, 1969 [Oct.18, 1968], No.49666/68. Heading F1B . An I.C. engine comprises an air intake duct with two opposed inlets 3, 4, Fig.1 for heated and unheated air-flows, which are united in their passage through the duct and a cantilever-like bi-metallic strip carrying a vane sandwiched between elastomeric members which can seat on the flanged ends of the inlet ducts, the bi-metallic strip deflecting towards one or other of the air inlets when the temperature deviates from a predetermined valve. In another embodiment the bi-metallic strip is U-shaped.
