1,248,292. Mixing apparatus; comminuting apparatus. KOMBINAT PUMPEN UND VERDICHTER VEB. 25 Feb., 1969, No. 9977/69. Headings B1C and B2A. A centrifugal slurry pump (especially for liquid manure) has connected upstream thereof a vessel 2 having an inlet aperture 4 for diluting water, an aperture 5 for connection to a source of vacuum for evacuation of the supply pipe and pump, a servicing opening provided with a rapid closure 6, and a member 3 between the supply pipe and the vessel 2 to compensate for length differences in the supply pipe and permit easy assembly. There may be a cutting knife 7 and the mixturemay be recycled through the inlet 4 for further treatment.
