Abstract
1,248,121. Loud-speaker diaphragms. NIPPON GAKKI SEIZO K.K. 10 March, 1969, No. 12529/69. Heading H4J. A loud-speaker diaphragm of foamed plastics material is an elongate body having a central portion constituting a cap engagingly accommodating a bobbin of a transversely extending voice coil, the portions of the diaphragm immediately adjacent said central portion being, on both sides, of a thickness which decreases gradually towards said central portion. The diaphragm may be a substantially flat plate gradually decreasing in thickness towards the centre (Fig. 2, not shown). Preferably, the diaphragm has a conical shape at the centre (Fig. 4). The periphery 6 of the conical part may be thickened. The diaphragm edge is clamped to a frame or the edge is corrugated (Fig. 5, not shown).
