Abstract
1,247,943. Planing metal. ZAPOROZHSKY TRANSFORMATORNY ZAVOD. 10 Jan., 1969, No. 1650/69. Heading B3L. A machine for simultaneously trimming or deburring the edges of at least two metal strips comprises feed rollers 27, 28 that feed, e.g. three separate strips 10, 11 and 12 through respective machining guides 2, 3 and 4. Strips 10 and 12 are fed through in a plane vertically above the plane of strip 11. Each guide 2, 3 and 4 comprises a carriage 5, 6 or 7 which is freely movable on rollers along the guides laterally to the direction of movement of the strips. Each carriage 5, 6 or 7 includes a pair of rests carrying a roller (15) (Fig. 4, not shown) adjustable on to each edge of a strip for guidance of the said strip and at least two carriages are located in different planes. Mounted on each rest is a laterally adjustable bracket (17) which carries a vertically adjustable slide (19), which in turn carries a horizontally slidable slide (21) which carries a damping bracket (25) for steadying the edge of the strip and an edge trimming or deburring tool (23), (24). The machine includes a resilient wiper arrangement (Fig. 6, not shown) for removing chips from the strips.
