Abstract
1,247,850. Lamp holders. PRESSAC Ltd. 9 Dec., 1968 [13 Dec., 1967], No. 56656/67. Heading H2E. A lamp holder 5 for a capless lamp has resilient metal portions 6 comprising projections 7 which engage locating grooves 4 in the corners of pinch 2 of the lamp; contacts 9 for the filament terminals 3; and means at 10 for connection to a lead. In a single filament lamp, terminals 3 are at opposite corners of the rectangular pinch 2, and contacts 9 (Figs. 5-31, not shown) are placed in corresponding positions in holder 5. In a double filament lamp, two terminals 3 are at two adjacent corners, and another is in the centre of the opposite face (Fig. 32, not shown), and contacts 9 (Figs. 33-42, not shown) are arranged correspondingly. A typical embodiment of portion 6 (Fig. 23) may also comprise projections 12 and 13 which engage in recesses in holder 5. A projection 7 may locate the bulb by engaging at an edge of pinch 2 (Figs. 21, 22, 27-42, not shown) or at a face of pinch 2 (Figs. 5-20, 23-26, not shown). Projections 7 may be arranged to locate grooves 4 in two adjacent corners, and contacts 9 may be duplicated to appear at opposite sides of the lamp at each end of the lamp. Means 10 comprises a crimping ferrule, solder tag, screw, plug or a socket. An earthing connection may be made at 11.
