Abstract
1,247,478. Roof drainage outlets. JOSAM MFG., CO. 24 Feb., 1970, No. 8901/70. Heading E1C. [Also in Division F2] A roof, &c drain pipe D is received within a bowl-shaped socket 10 and a gasket 22 is forced axially from within the socket into the annular recess between the two parts. The gasket 22, Fig. 2, is tapered from its upper to its lower ends, the upper end having a groove 22g to receive a tool by which it is forced home. Inner and outer barb-shaped ridges 22n, 22x extending round the gasket 22 are larger at the top end of the gasket than at the bottom end. Screws 13, Fig. 1, centre the drain pipe D in its socket 10. Concrete C is laid to provide a floor slab supporting the socket 10, a flashing F is secured in position by a ring 17 and bolts 15, and a strainer S is adjustably threaded into the ring 17.
