Abstract

1,247,225. Conveying onions. G. E. CHARITY. 24 June, 1970 [31 March, 1969], No. 16751/69. Heading B8A. A conveyer for feeding onions for planting, comprises an endless belt 2 flanked by side walls 17 of undulating profile. A central dividing wall 18 of the conveying channel is oscillated to and fro against a spring 13 by the action of a cam 14 driven by the shaft 5 of landwheels (not shown). The onions are fed on to the conveyer by a hopper 19. The width of each conveying channel may be adjusted by interposing spacers between the walls 17 and the machine frame.
