Abstract

1,247,204. Creels. W. REINERS. 11 Oct., 1968 [18 Oct., 1967], No. 48330/68. Headings D1J and D1M. A bobbin creel 1, Fig. 1, in which the bobbin holders 2 are mounted on one or more trolleys 3a, 3b, has a rod 9 for lifting at least part of the warp threads f extending between the creel and a take-up device 5 such that the trolleys can travel out of the creel under the raised threads f. The trolleys may run on rails. A comb on the take-up device 5 may be associated with clamping means that automatically clamps the threads f when the rod 9 is raised. The teeth 6 of the comb are mounted on a carrier 6a, Fig. 7, and the yarn passes between the carrier 6a and an upper bar 21. Spring means 23 biass the bar 21 upwardly to space the bar 21 from the comb carrier 6a; but when the rod 9 is raised a circuit is closed to energize an electro-magnet 20. This causes the bar 21 to be drawn downwardly to clamp the yarn between it and the comb carrier 6a.
