To avoid the necessity for an accurate join line plates 17 may be provided across parts corresponding to flat portions 12, the join line may be notched to accommodate the plate thickness. If the plate 17 extends the whole length of the side drain holes are provided where the plate extends across the trough-like corrugations 14. A stiffening angle 18 may be provided. If one wall is flat a joining piece 23, Fig. 3, is fitted. This has a part 22 secured to the mitred faces of the corrugations and a flat face 24 secured to the flat wall 25. The wall 25 is stiffened by channel sections 26 secured to its inside surface. The various walls, strips and stiffening members are secured together by welding, brazing, soldering or by an adhesive.
