Abstract

1,246,327. Piezo - electric generators. ROBERTSHAW CONTROLS CO. 24 Sept., 1968 [25 Sept.. 1967], No. 45336/68. Heading H2A. An igniter particularly for the pilot or main burners of a gas cooker comprises a frame 26 supporting at least one piezo-electric element and means for pressurizing the same. As shown, two piezo-electric elements 33, 34, insulated from the frame and from each other at 40, 41 and 39 are adapted to be compressed by a cam 45 rotatable by an arm 44 on actuation of a push rod 28. The terminals of each element 33, 34 are connected to one electrode of each of a pair of spark gaps 57, 58 and 65, 66 respectively, the other electrodes being earthed and located adjacent pilot burners 21, 22 and 19, 20 so that each element ignites a pair of burners.
