[Also in Division B3] A method of manufacturing a mould part having a moulding surface provided by one. side of an electrodeposited layer 1 wherein fusible material is fixed against the other side of the layer, the fusible-material being covered with a reinforcing backing 2 applied to the layer I, the arrangement of fusible material being such that it may be melted out to form a duct system 4 between the layer 1 and the backing 2. A further layer 1 may be deposited over the fusible material before the backing is applied (Fig. 1b). The fusible-material is wax and the reinforcing backing is a cold setting plastics such as an epoxy resin or it may be a soft metal in the example of Fig. 1b. Two parts may be juxtaposed to form a mould as shown, with plates 3 to clamp the mould. Inlets 5 and outlets 6 are provided to permit flow of a heat exchange medium when the mould is used. The fusible material may be adhesively secured to the layer.
