Abstract

1,245,664. Screening. PLASTILUOR S.A. 10 April, 1969 [12 April, 1968], No. 18595/69. Heading B2H. Apparatus for removing dust from particulate material such as waste plastics comprises a drum 1 supported on bearings 3 to rotate about a horizontal axis, an elongate perforated box 11 disposed within the drum, and a suction means for removing air from the box, so that, as the drum rotates, material is showered onto the box and dust is removed through the perforations. The driving mechanism is a motor 8 and pulley 6. An air-intake 18 and a material inlet 19 are provided in the drum. The box 11 is secured for quick removal by a bayonet fitting (17) (Fig. 2, not shown), and is made of metal to depolarise the particles. The screening surface may be cleaned by immersion in trichloroethylene.
