Abstract
1,245,587. Contacting gases with liquids. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 14 March, 1969 [8 April, 1968], No. 16853/68. Heading B1R. [Also in Division C2]. In a catchpot-scrubber gases are fed at 32 on to conical impingement surface 34 to deposit liquid droplets and then pass up through scrubbing trays 36, comprising weirs and downcomers 38, down which liquid is fed from pipe 40, any remaining droplets of entrained liquid being absorbed in pad 42 before the gas passes out at 44. Liquid product passes out at 50. (For Figure see next page)
