Abstract

1,244,711. Carbon fibre body. SIGRIELEKTROGRAPHIT G.m.b.H. 22 Jan., 1970 [23 Jan., 1969], No. 3267/70. Heading C1A. [Also in Division H1] A catalyst electrode comprises a support made from carbon fibre or graphitized carbon fibre material which has been coated with pyrocarbon and to which a catalyst containing surface layer has been applied. In the example, the following surface layers were applied to the pyrocarbon coated support: a water-repellent priming layer of P.T.F.E., a layer of carbon and binder, a first catalyst layer of carbon, binder and catalyst, and a second catalyst layer of catalyst and binder. Pressure was applied to the composite body which was then sintered.
