1,244,537. Storage heaters. E. CHIDLOW & CO. Ltd. 26 Aug., 1970 [14 Oct., 1969], No. 50351/69. Heading F4U. In a storage heater 10, which operates during an off-peak period and which includes a housing 13, a thermal storage block 11 containing one or more electrical resistance elements, and a passageway 16, 17, a thermostatically-controlled (21) electrical heating element 12 is provided in the passageway. In operation, after the storage heater has ceased to draw electrical power during an off-peak period, the convector heating elements 12 are required to boost the output of the storage block. The storage heater may include a fan or blower to assist the flow of air along the passageway.
