Abstract

1,244,466. Windscreen wipers. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Feb.20, 1970 [Feb.21, 1969; April 15, 1969], No.8301/70. Heading A4F. In a vehicle windscreen wiper having a wiper arm and blade assembly angularly movable to and fro by a push rod and a rocker arm, the arm and blade assembly 118, 130 is connected to a sleeve 114 to which the rocker arm 116 is rigidly secured and, which is rotatably mounted on a fixed pin 113. The rocker arm 116 carries guide members, 139, 140 and 138 Fig. 10 (not shown) co-operating with a roller 142 mounted on a fixed support 111 to move the sleeve 114 axially and lift the wiper blade 130 off the screen 110 when the blade is moved into a parking position outside its normal wiping arc. Alternatively the roller 142 is carried by the rocker arm and co-operates with a stationary cam. In other embodiments the wiper arm is connected to a driving sleeve 41 Fig. 2 (not shown) or 75 Fig. 5 (not shown) by a partly spherical hinge constructions which closes the opening in the vehicle body wall from which the wiper arm emerges, or the wiper arm is connected to a driving sleeve 75', Fig.7 (not shown) by a non- spherical hinge instruction. In all these further embodiments wiping pressure is applied to the wiping arm by a compression spring.
