Abstract

1,244,390. Roller-mills. J. M. J. INDUSTRIES Inc. 6 Aug., 1969, No. 39388/69. Heading B2A. A roller-mill for crushing and size-reducing coal comprises a pair of similar rolls 10, 11, Fig. 1. Projecting from a surface 12 of each roll is a plurality of elongate, continuous, tapered, axially-extending teeth 13. Elongate, arcuate ribs 14 extend at right angles from each side of and have the same cross section as each tooth 13. A groove 15 receives one of the continuous teeth 13 of the adjacent coacting roll. The roll pattern is asymmetrical viz. a circumferential line 17 Fig. 2 of ribs 14 is provided at one end of each roll, but a line 18 at the other end is spaced away from that end. The rolls are driven synchronously by gearing.
