Abstract

1,243,260. Boots &c. E. T. WRIGHT & CO. Inc. 14 Feb., 1969 [8 Nov., 1968], No. 8125/69. Heading A3B. A metal stud 14 for a shoe, e.g. a golf shoe, has a head 20 and a first cylindrical portion 24 embedded in an anchor plate 16a, a second cylindrical portion 26 of smaller diameter embedded in the sole 12 and a tapered portion 28 which projects from the tread surface of the sole 12. The head 20 may be non-circular and may contain holes or recesses 38. The tapered portion 28 has a tapered bore 34 in which is fitted an insert 36 of tungsten. The sole 12 may be moulded on to the shoe upper or may be preformed with a recess for the anchor plate 16a and holes for the studs 14.
