[Also in Divisions B3 and H1] A shaft or spindle for a potentiometer or other rotary electrical component 1 has a projection 3 for engaging a stop on the potentiometer body which is made by cold-forming. On each side of the projection 3 are grooves 4 which are preferably produced by turning on the body portion 2 before the projection 3 is formed.
