Abstract

1,242,916. Sets. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 4 Sept., 1969 [11 Sept., 1968; 29 May, 1969], No. 43792/69. Heading H4J. The dial 2 of a telephone set has two or more arcuate recesses 7 each shaped into its underneath and outer cylindrical surfaces and a member 8 extending radially outwards to modify part of each recess 7 into an arcuate groove in the outer cylindrical surface of the dial 2. The subset cover 1 is of plastics material and has a circular opening 4 with two or more integral ribs 3 arranged inside the opening 4 below the cover outer surface. Each rib 3 extends around an arc of, and radially into, the opening 4. The number and spacing of the ribs 3 is the same as the recesses 7. The depth of each rib 3, except for an end stop 6, is such that it will closely fit in the groove portion of each recess 7. The arcuate length of each rib 3 is less than that of each creess 7, but greater than the members 8 in the recesses 7. The dial 2 is mounted in position in the cover 1 by placing the recesses 7 over the ribs 3 and rotating the dial 2 until the members 8 engage under the ribs 3 and against the stops 6 on the ribs 3. A resilient latch 9 extends from the dial into a groove 10 on an inside surface of the cover 1 when the dial 2 is in position. Other additional fixing means are not required.
