[Also in Division A5] A process for making a laminated wound dressing comprises needling a composite batt comprising a layer of polypropylene fibres and a layer of absorbent fibres and calendering the batt at a temperature of from 130‹ C. up to below 166‹ C. The absorbent layer may be of cotton or viscose fibres and may be covered by a protective layer or porous fabric or film with an overhanging portion coated with adhesive.
